RE: Digital TV test finds glitches

To save money most of the stations are not broadcasting at full power, they will wait till Feb. So don't panic, things should get better. They're not? Any of mine that aren't being flash-cut are running the legal limit. Running at reduced power is pretty much done because a significant number of the cable companies and satellite collection points are now, or very shortly watching the DTV signals. This conversion has been going on for at least 2 years.
From what I have read on the Internet, in a lot of areas, stations are not at full power.

Of course location, and antenna direction are important, if there are hills around the area you are in the signal will be degraded, and you may need a taller antenna.

RE: Isolator failure & 40A house circuit breaker tripping

Sounds like a lose wire connection. They can arc and get really hot, and melt stuff.
This was a post I made a while back. Fried the breaker to my a/c.

RE: LEAKY PROPANE LINES?

The propane valves at the tank have two seals, one for when the tank is closed all the way, and one for when it is open all the way. This is because the valves by nature can leak during opening, but if opened all the way the other seal will stop any collateral leakage through the valve itself. It sounds more like the regulator has failed and is leaking. Propane is not something to mess around with. Get a professional to check the system (RV propane systems should be tested every year anyway) and perform any repairs. Propane explosions can really piss off your neighbors, and ruin your whole day.

RE: LEAKY PROPANE LINES?

Dropping the tank is not that hard, but mine was on a lift when it was done. I don't think I would want to do it laying on the ground. I had a bad fitting, and the only way to get to it was to remove the tank.

RE: Tire recommendation for Sprinter? (16 inch)

SHEARWATER, where did you possibly get the idea the XPS tires were 'rated as summer tires only'??? Granted, the XPS Rib tire is not a traction tire, but you wouldn't want an aggressive tire on a trailer anyway. They make the XPS Traction for powered vehicles.
Trailer:? Were talking about a Sprinter Van.
Anyway, I'm very happy with my Bridgestone V Steels.

RE: Removing wasp nest from furnace

BTW, if you feel unsafe with the screens, why not just a piece of duct tape over the vents when your rig is not being used? Cheap and simple solution, no? Remove before use.
What happens when you forget to remove the tape! :E If one forgets to remove the screens I think that would be a lot less dangerous than forgetting the tape.

RE: Removing wasp nest from furnace

I think another problem is that they stick out, and it is a lot easier to bump into one, and get burned.
It says on the package to remove them before using the furnace. It seems there are always people that go against the manufactures warnings, and have no reported problems, if you feel comfortable doing so go for it, but, in my opinion, recommending it to others without also providing the warning is being negligent.

RE: Removing wasp nest from furnace

The furnace screens get way to hot if left on during furnace use, and I'm sure they do restrict air flow. They are made to keep critters out when the furnace is not in use. Never had a problem with any of the other vents on the Rt., and I live in critter city.

RE: Urgent help needed. Propane Leak ???

It's pretty small - but still, I doubt it is normal. Does anyone know for sure?
No propane leak is normal, and it's probably only going to get worse. Get it fixed asap.

RE: Info for TV Reception on Dell Laptop

Also thinking of including the AVer TV Hybrid Nano Express ATSC TV Tuner w/ Media Center Remote Control when ordering the Laptop.
Thinking of taking out the TV in my RT and using the Laptop for TV viewing, would like to know if the laptop can be connected to the RT antenna and be able to receive TV reception when the change takes effect in February 2009.

RE: Roof rack for kayak

Look in the archives, lots of information there. This was from one search I did.
http://www.trailerlife.com/cforum/index.cfm/fuseaction/search/parms/sw%7Bkayaks%7D%7Ckm%7Bexact%7D%7Ckl%7Bm%7D%7Cfm%7B21%7D%7Cpd%7B366%7D%7Cma%7B%7D/sr/1.cfm
As I remember no one found a good way to carry them on the roof, vertically on the back seemed to be an alternative.
